Division

When to divide a perennial DAISY:

The best time is between late autumn and early spring. This is when the plant is not in a growing stage. Try to avoid times when it is too wet, too dry or very cold.

How to divide a perennial DAISY:

Lift the daisy with a fork and then carefully divide the root ball either with your hand or with the fork into smaller parts. Try not to damage the roots too much. If the center of the plant is quite woody than use a spade. Shake off the soil. Choose the healthiest looking pieces. These are often the pieces from the outer ring of the plant. The center of the plant is the oldest bit and shouldn't be used. Cut off any old and untidy looking bits and then replant! Don't forget to water your new plants thoroughly.
